Today has been named “National Chicken List Day” in the Direct Sales Industry. Our challenge: to make a list of those people we’d love to approach about our business but have been scared to talk approach. Fear of rejection, failure and judgement are big hurdles in our line of work–My dear friend & co- leader Megan and I dressed up in a chicken costume and walked around Target to inspire our Norwex sales team to be brave. We originally thought it would be fun to pose as sad chickens in the stinky- scary chemical aisle but ended up meeting and asking random people, “What would you do if you weren’t a chicken?” We were eventually asked to leave due to “causing confusion” but we know we caused someone to take a chance and chase a dream or goal. (I hope so. If not, I have NO regrets. My stomach still hurts from laughing, and if you aren’t having fun at work, what’s the point?!)
